Michael Vick gets hung from a tree and these 6 idiots will NOT be charged with a hate crime against this woman. If not a hate crime, this should at least be an act of terrorism....

Ok, is it because one of them knew her? That seemed to be what the article said. Is that some sort of part of the federal statute? That you pick your victim at random?
On the plus side, hate crime charges can be added on the state level.

But didn't the article say that they had a better chance for prosecution -- and a stiffer penalty -- if they didn't charge the perps with a hate crime?
Hate crime convictions are a double-edged sword. Sure, it gets put on the books as such, but hate is such a difficult thing to prove. We might know it when we see it, but folks on the jury might see differently. However kidnapping isn't as ambiguous as a hate crime charge.

I agree with you, but I read that they're charging them with sexual assault instead of the hate crime because they'll get more time for sexual assault. It most definitely is a hate crime in my eyes too though.

This story is disgusting. I hope that all these animals are locked away forever.
From what I heard this morning, this girl used to date one of these idiots.
I most definitely believe that this was a hate crime and wish that it could be added to the list of charges that these animals have racked up. They all have extensive records to begin with. There was clearly no home training going on seeing as how the triffling ass momma was in on it.
God Bless whoever called the police. This is why I always encourage people to call the police if they see something that doesn't look or feel right. You could be saving a life. I will be praying for this woman because her physical scars will heal but her emotional and mental scars will take some time.

I read about this yesterday...and just assumed that the victim was white because the perpetrators were, too.
