Really, unless you've been there, you can't imagine how sweltering those packed suites in the Panhellenic are during recruitment. I remember as an active I had to take a break from one party because I was queasy. Following the rules, one of the recruitment counselors accompanied me to the ladies' room, and after about a minute of observing my pale, sweating self pressing cold, wet paper towels all over my face and neck, she said she knew I really was sick and wasn't trying to dirty rush anyone, so she left me in peace and went back to her other monitoring duties. At that moment, I couldn't have dirty-rushed anyone even if I had wanted to. I wasn't exactly a walking advertisement for cool, collected Southern womanhood just then!
