There's not anything in Knoxville that sells sorority stuff. The closest place is Campus Cargo in Dandridge. However, the people from the store usually set up in the bottom of the Panhellenic building on Mondays (when all the sororities meet) starting the day after Bid Day and going on for several weeks. I can give you the info for Campus Cargo if you want though.

Here is Campus Cargo's website: www.therealcampuscargo.com
The owner's name is Jean Riggs, she's been in business for years, and is incredibly helpful. She can probably get anything you want.

If anyone is looking for other store recs., My sister (Pi Phi) and I (Theta) are in the process of launching our own Greek Lic. bath/cosmetics line -- we're not in stores yet-- but we've visted and/or talked too, what seems like, every Greek store/online boutique in the county! We'd be happy to share our info.

Hope this helps.

And Heartstrings is still amazingly cute.

Heartstrings is probably the best greek store (place you can walk into) that I've ever been too - great variety in addition to all of their other cute stuff! For online shopping, greekgiftsetc.com is owned by an Auburn ZTA alumnae and has a cute variety.

What a great store! You have to walk in and look to truly appreciate this place. Had to be in Auburn yesterday and wouldn't have missed it even though it was very "picked over" after bid day. They have really unique and "no one has it" type merchandise. I just wish they had a catalog for those that will never actually get to shop there in person.

Jean is AWESOME!! Her store is not to far off interstate 40, just a little off the beaten path. I used to go right by there on my way home from college, so I would always try to "take a rest break" at that exit! I think Jean is a DZ, and her husband is a Pi Kappa Phi. They were both always soooo friendly!!!

For anyone that is interested I handpaint pillows with the sorority colors, or whatever color your daughter would want matching dorm room etc. I paint girls with beaded necklaces, bracelets etc. I than paint the sorority name on them. I have sold these to many Georgia and Ole Miss girls. If anyone is interested they are 125.00 and you can email me for pictures. I don't mean to advertise here, that is not my intention, but they are one of a kind.

Really, unless you've been there, you can't imagine how sweltering those packed suites in the Panhellenic are during recruitment. I remember as an active I had to take a break from one party because I was queasy. Following the rules, one of the recruitment counselors accompanied me to the ladies' room, and after about a minute of observing my pale, sweating self pressing cold, wet paper towels all over my face and neck, she said she knew I really was sick and wasn't trying to dirty rush anyone, so she left me in peace and went back to her other monitoring duties. At that moment, I couldn't have dirty-rushed anyone even if I had wanted to. I wasn't exactly a walking advertisement for cool, collected Southern womanhood just then!

I completely agree. So many of our girls have had to take breaks during the parties because of the heat. Also, the air conditioning in our suite was broken for the first 2 parties of round 1... when the maintenance men came in to fix it it was over 80 degrees in there!
