Who became the new headmaster at Hogwarts?

I'm thinking Professor McGonagoll, but I'd like to think at some point later in life Harry becomes Headmaster (or at least teaches Defense against the Dark Arts)

Who was the person that was able to do magic late in life?

Bit of a puzzle here - perhaps Hagrid was finally "permitted" to perform magic?

What happened to Luna?

It seemed like there was a tiny hint of some interest with Dean. I think she either continued the Quibbler or taught Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts.

What about the veil that Sirius fell through?

What about it?

Did Hermione ever bring her parents back from Australia?

Once the danger from the Death Eaters passed, I imagine she at least restored their memory, but they may have decided to stay in Australia.

Who are Rose and Hugo named for?

I've been puzzling over this myself. They may just be new names

Why wasn't anyone named for Sirius?

Although it doesn't say so, I like to think that Sirius is the middle name for Harry's son James.

What happened to George? Does he still continue the joke shop?

I can't imagine George not doing jokes, but I think one of his brothers joins him. Perhaps Ron - that would drive Hermione nuts!

Did the Dursleys return home?

What would Privet Drive be without the Dursleys?

I was liking to think James' middle name was Fred.

Harry had 2 sons, so the middle names of the eiter of the boys could easily be Fred and Sirius.

Actually Albus' middle name is Severus - named for the two greatest headmasters at Hogwarts. James' middle name is still left to be determined.

I think the name of Rose followed after Harry's mom and aunt - Rose, Lily, Petunia, etc.

When HP named his son "Albus Severus" after the two greatest headmasters, that is when I became teary eyed. The idea of such forgiveness and understanding in the face of Snape's temperment toward HP and realizing all these many years Snape had loved HP's mother was a real act of honoring his memory.

I thought Rose was Hermonine and Ron's daughter. Harry and Ginny Potter's daughter is named Lilly.

I don't remember! LOL It still could be that it followed along the same lines. I could see James Sirius as being the full name of the other son.

So who's now re-reading their copy? I'm about halfway through my second reading. My boyfriend just looked at me and went, "I thought you finished it?"
Me: "I did. It was so good I'm reading it over again so I can take in the smaller details this time."

I'm so excited, I'm getting the UK adult version (with the slytherin locket on the cover). I also realized what Harry is reaching for on the cover of the US version.

For me, rereading will have to wait (unfortunately )...I've put off the work I was planning on doing this summer long enough, and I have a test in less than two weeks that I haven't started studying for

All in all, though....I LOVED the book! My mom couldn't believe that I finished it as fast as I did

My fiancee said the same thing to me also about re-reading the book a second time.

So what do you think is happening on the US cover? My mom and I talked about it, but really had no idea.

Things I would have liked to have seen / found out:

- Did harry finish school

- Of those killed in the battle, did any of them ever become Hogwatrs ghosts (what are the requirements anyways?)

- What kinds of jobs did they take upon finishing (Did Harry become an Auror?)

- What became of Azkaban and the dementors?

- Did goblin / human relations improve?

- I am still a bit confused about the sword ... if Griphook took it back in the Gringotts battle...how did Neville get it? Unless...they made the switch....

- who raised Lupin and Tonk's son

- Did Snape get a frame in the headmaster's room? I could only imagine what would have been said if Harry ever had a chance to communicate with Snape in that manner

- And as much darkness that was in him, how was Voldemort's body disposed of?

Neville pulled it out of the sorting hat. I don't know how he got it, but I know he pulled it out of the hat like Harry did in the chamber of secrets.

I was a little confused by that as well, but I had to leave it at "he pulled it out of a hat." As we have been reminded, "Help will always be given to those at Hogwarts who ask."

I, too would have liked to have been told about whether Harry, Ron and Hermione went back to school and what they and Ginny now do for a living. I assume Tonks' mom raised Teddy -- that's who he was with during the battle. And I also assume that Snape's portrait is indeed in the Headmistress's office (for I think McGonagall became Headmistress -- would have liked to know if she was still living when Albus left for Hogwarts).

And I don't think anyone told Dumbeldore about Harry's departure necessarily. Dumbledore saw that coming a year earlier. He would have had discussions with other members of the Order about it before he died.

I thought she was supposed to tell us why some people became ghosts and others didn't. It might have been explained in Harry's conversation with Grey Lady, but I didn't think it was very clear.

I was wondering what influence Ginny had on naming their children. I'd like to think that Lily's middle name is Fred. LOL
