Well that's the thing about pop- it's recyclable, and rarely about long careers (exception: Madonna). Pop is about youth and once you're not the new, young thing pop doesn't apply.

Except for MJ in the 70's and 80's. Just raw talent.

And to add to that, once they age, get married, and have kids...it's the beginning of the end. Watch out Usher! You SURE you wanna do it? LOL
