I'm a fan of ABC Family shows. Well most of them anyway. So I'll give it a chance. It would be fun to watch an interesting show based around Greek life though. Amazingly, no show's made that their whole plot yet, so it could be very interesting. And I think ABC Family is sugary-sweet enough to tackle the "issues" out there, without ruining the idea of Greek life.

 That's all it had.
 | That sounds like real life reversed for a guy on my campus and a girl I joined with...

Guy was in fraternity. Guy didn't want sister to join sorority. Mostly because all his brothers thought she was hot and he knew he'd never hear the end of it during greek week/homecoming if our sorority ever joined up with his.

Girl then becomes shining example of greek life and is now a leadership consultant. |

Oh my god. I know at out campus Greeks are looked down on. It's not the "cool" thing to do. We have such a hard tim getting girls to join and now with the possiblity of a show like this on TV..our chances just got a whole lot slimmer.

If the whole series is based on being greek then they likely won't cast it in a completely horrible light. Maybe even something positive could make it on the air!

Oh yes, thanks for bringing my odd attraction to facial tattoos back to the surface, however full out animal body mods are not more me. I've seen lizard-man before and I assume "cat-man" there is cut of the same cloth.

OK, I'm sure plenty of people didn't like it, but I enjoyed it. There were some things that were over the top and exaggerated, but so many things were spot on. And the dorky lil brother reminded me of SO many freshmen fraternity pledges.

I just hope that the new freshman aren't watching this show thinking that's how it is going to be at college and then decide not to go through recruitment. Because it is nothing like that, at least at my school is wasn't.

Realistic or not, I will be watching a few more episodes. I do think they stretched it a bit, but you almost have to for entertainment purposes.

Here is what I got from the first episode:
Con: Nerds and Greeks are two different worlds
Pro: Fraternity men are very prevalent in US Politics and the Forbes 500
Con: Fraternity men are ALL hot and party
Pro: Gay men are in fraternities
Con: Sorority rushees are judged on what they wear
 Pro: Recommendations are a plus
Con: Fraternities and Sororities give bids for not quality peep reasons, but for cover ups and what looks best on paper
Pro: a president of a sorority is an honor
Con: Bribes are acceptable to give to potential members
Pro: Outback looks delicious (it was a commercial)
Con: Fraternity men are sinners (thats from the confederate roomie)
 Con: Social Life= Entire Life
Con: Pledges are lower the the fraternity they are joining (if i had to dress in drag, well it would be over)

Loved the show, loved that Rusty went Kappa Tau Gamma (they seem a lot like my BF's fraternity minus the hazing). No it's not 100% real, but it's awesome tv. My favorite part was the Omega Chi Delta legacy busting out of the Kappa Tau Gamma house after an evening on the Down Low. I died laughing. I also loved the "paddle fight". The actors are great, the story lines aren't TOO far-fetched from reality or veer into the real Greek extremes, so I definitely will continue to watch.

I guess after watching the past two episodes, I tried to be open minded on the plots. I was actually touched by Cappie's personality, the whole brother/sister thing, and how the brothers in Kappa cared about the pledges. Though on the other hand I really wanted to beat the s*** out of Rebecca.
Maybe come to think about, it may not shine too bad of a light of greek life after all.
