I'd agree. It's common knowledge at Duke, for example, that there are the "Core Four" sororities (I won't name them for obvious reasons -- if you're curious, Google is your friend) then everyone else. Back in the 80s when I was there I don't recall that term being used, but the same four chapters (and I'd include another, BTW) were always considered "top tier".

I don't think anyone is denying that such tiers exist on individual campuses...however, the person was implying that there was some sort of inter/national tiering system for organizations as a whole. Not just individual chapters on individual campuses.

(Reminded me a lot of that long PM that BamaDad received...)

That's how I understood it as well.

I absolutely agree with this. I saw it happen at my school.

Sorry about your finger and everything, but COME ON -- don't you think you could learn to type with your toes!?!?

Is it wrong that in the same situation, if I really wanted to post because I knew people were eagerly awaiting the delightful unfolding and uplifting ending to well-written and involving recruitment story that would certainly cause women to renew their connections to their GLO all over the country with its narrative power like this one, and I had a sprained finger, I'd try to make my husband type it for me? I mean, would it be so wrong for you to find someone to do it?

Just kidding. I'm sorry about your finger.

I don't think anybody would take issue with the fact that some groups have bigger national organizations, more alumnae groups, undergrad chapters, etc. It's just how it is. Campus tiers exist sometimes too (for better or for worse).

My concern is that dream*a*dream is equating "top tier" with "absolutely wonderful". Notice the quotes below:

"with 3 of those chapters you definitely would have had a rush that *dreams* were made of. i am totally impressed, those are absolutely wonderful chapters"

"You have 3 absolutely wonderful sororities with highly prestigious ratings and rankings nationwide."
