Well, it is my understanding that most of these non HIV viral tests are difficult to test because these are blood tests. Since HIV directly affects immuno-competent cells with a CD4+ tag, then it is readily detectible by blood.

Either way, you all be careful with your lovers and make them wear a physical barrier. And if you are female who has sex with males, use some level of birth control if you are not planning on pregnancy...

Because the worst is giving birth with an active STI (sexually transmitted infection) infection that gets passed on to the kid.

As far as "throat cancer" by oral sex. The mouth has everything in it. Throat cancer is like a squamous cell carcinoma (I think?). That means the cells had some nasty bug, like yeast or a tape worm, or environmental trigger, like smoking, that set it off. Unless dude eats leaded dirt with human poop and drinks battery acid, a generalized STI, like HPV or Herpes, is not going to survive the esophageal mastication. It could happen, but extremely rare and highly unlikely.

lol

I just skimmed through the article, and I've never heard of getting cancer from having oral sex. My dentist told me that you can get cancer of the mouth just by not taking care of your teeth and gums. I wonder if the people that this article applies to just have bad hygiene.
