I'm not sure I liked the end. Now we know what happens - sort of - and there's 3 more years of the show. I feel like it might make the anticipation not so intense?
Also, why didn't Charlie run out of the room and shut the door? He closed himself in before the explosion even happened. He didn't have to drown. Or is it that he thought he had to to make the rest of Desmond's vision come true?

The only way for the door to be locked was from the inside....remmeber Charlie can hold his breath...and really..who says...he's....dead....?
My theory is that they get 'home' and things change too dramatically and traumatically for them...and like Jack says...they have to go back..because maybe it wasn't ment for them to return....
I still think they are in some kind of purgatory....

Uh...Charlie lied about holding his breath so that he could go out to the Looking Glass and finally live (die) Desmond's vision. Charlie's dead.
Also I love my sister because she becomes a fanatic about these things and manages to pick up on all the little details I miss! Way to go Bebe!

I also thought Jack's cell phone in the flash forwards was weird... but only because I thought, "wow he has a really crappy old truck but a nice phone."
and I found this on a lost screencaps site... it's the complete funeral notice:
"The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue.
Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim's loft.
Concerned for tenants' safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room.
According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son.
Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening."

I wonder if John Lantham is John Locke, and he "loses it" once they leave the island (because he was so adamant that they're supposed to stay on the island) and he hanged himself? Mind you, he could have just stay on the island and refuse to get on the rescue ship or helicopter (if one comes).
(no one came to the casket viewing, and also Jack said to the funeral director that he was "neither" family nor a friend.)

Some other boards are speculating that it's Michael due to the teenage son.

This was my guess also, that it was Michael in the casket.

By the teenaged son, do you mean Walt? Why would Michael commit suicide if he got Walt back? Or was it because Walt was kinda "off" (remember how Walt's stepfather didn't want him, because he recognized that Walt had special powers?)

And did Jack say they left someone behind on the island when they left?
|
I think drunk & broken Jack believes his father is still alive but I don't think he is.
My theory is that Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and maybe a few others got off the island somehow but that not everyone could leave. Those who got off the island moved on with their lives but Jack is unable to b/c of his hero complex.

Do you guys think that maybe the next 3 seasons will be off-island with on-island flashbacks? It would seem like an obvious formula... 3 seasons of the island, and then 3 seasons of the real world.
GAH I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
I loved when Hurley came down with teh van.. I started busting up laughing.
