I pledged in 1992, and our chapter "families" were a pretty big deal. You had your mom, grandma, great-grandma, etc, and we kept track of them pretty diligently. It was fun at Homecoming to meet an alumnae, recognize the name, and say "hey...you're my great-great-great grandma!"

Our chapter keeps track of it pretty well...family trees are a popular gift to sis-daughters. Unfortunately I don't know anything past my great-grandma, but I'm making sure my family will keep track from now on, so they'll know for generations to come!
Oh and butt-letters? I might be biased because I refuse to wear anything on my butt (I think it's a HEYHEYLOOKATME thing...I do not like these things.), but even if I did...that's disrespectful to SIT on your letters constantly. I mean really...sit, fart...NO. There's an easy solution, too...there are track pants with letters down one of the legs. If you must have letters on your pants, what's wrong with those? They're cute and at least they aren't being SAT upon.
