I just signed up for the Fat Smash forum posted by Ideal. I was getting a weird authorization request last night, but today it was up and running, so I signed up. I saw that there is a gang of recipes on there and that's what I am ALWAYS looking for! It's so easy to get stuck in a rut during Phase I. You have to be fully equipped! I can't wait to try some of them out!

Soror RD, why'd you delete the link for the yahoo group? I think that's helpful, too.
I don't know much about the forum that I posted, lol. I did that for informational purposes. So I don't know if it costs money or what.
I think I may be done with FS; I don't think I'll be able to do that and eat properly to train for this marathon. I'm going to need pasta, especially, so I have to abandon FS. But I'll still keep everything I learned and continue with that.
That being said, I ate two pieces of pizza last night at my Kick-Off Celebration. Details in My Fantastic Voyage.
No meat today, though.

Here's the link again: Fat Smash Yahoo Group
My bad! Once you submit your membership info, they are pretty quick about adding you. They also allege that Dr. Ian pops in from time to time to answer questions, but I've never witnessed any of his posts for the yr. or so that I have been on. It's still a good resource for anyone thinking about FS or on FS.

Did you know . . .
that this week was National Women's Health Week?
The 8th annual National Women's Health Week will kick off on Mother's Day, May 13, 2007, and will be celebrated until May 19, 2007. National Women's Check-up Day will be Monday, May 14, 2007.
National Women's Health Week encourages women to take simple steps for a longer, healthier, and happier life. The theme for National Women's Health Week 2007 is "It's Your Time: Pamper Your Mind, Body and Spirit." During the Week, families, communities, businesses, government, health organizations and other groups work together to:
- celebrate the extraordinary progress in women's health
- bring attention to and create understanding of women's health issues
- encourage women to get regular check-ups
- provide free or reduced screenings for women nationwide
- educate women about steps they can take to improve their physical and mental health and prevent disease
More info here.

HR Monitor Watch
Ok, y'all, here's what I need.
I need a Heart Rate Monitor. I want it in the form of a watch. Why? Because I need to split my time (walk 3 mins, run 5 mins). So I want to make sure I'm not working out of my safe zone (HR-wise), and I want an easy way to keep track of how long I'm running/walking. I just did a quick search online, and they are VERY expensive. Now, I just spent an obscene amount of money on my shoes (obscene to me), and I don't want to spend more on this HR monitor watch than I spent on the shoes! So I need y'all's help.
Do you have a HR monitor of any type? If so, what is it, what does it do, and how much did you pay for it? Where did you get it from? Would you buy one used? I've never bought anything like this, so I haven't even checked Ebay or Amazon, because there are some things I won't buy used, and this may be one of them. Since I've never used one, I'm skeptical to buy a used one, because I won't know if it's broken or not, y'know?
So, help me!!! Because me and the treadmill are not getting along. I'd rather run outside. I mean, the marathon is outside, so I need to do all my training outside. And for that to happen, I need a timer of sorts that can split my time. I'm willing to use two devices, if need be, if that will save me money (like, a HR monitor and a separate stop watch).

Well, I didn't start FS today. I didn't buy anything to eat, so I wasn't prepared to start today. I will head to the store later today or tomorrow. I really need to do it because that laziness is setting in and I'm going to get TOO lazy to start anything. I've gotta break free!
