I agree! They had WAY too many characters in it for it not to be the series finale! Joan's mom & dad, people she went to law school with, etc. But, I'm with everyone else, I was hoping, praying, sitting on the edge of my seat thinking Toni was going to make an appearance...

And I too was boo-hooing when Aaron proposed!! I love Aaron for Joan, he puts up with all her crazies...

(I think they based the Joan Clayton character off me, we are like a crazy--straightjack match!!

I will be so sad if the show doesn't come back...I will miss me some Girlfriends!

I loved the season finale as well. It was soooooo beautiful. Aaron had everyone there to see him propose to Joan. I was not expecting some of those people to be there. The setting and set up of getting Joan there was awesome. I knew that Toni wasn't going to be there. I mean, let's be real. William and Monica were in their own world thinking everything was about them. Hilarious!!!

I thought Toni was coming back too. I kept watching it saying, "...Okay...and then Toni...and theeeen Toni...Toni?!" to no avail. It was still good either way. I also think they set it up this way in the event that the show doesn't return next season.

And they STILL need to bring back Half & Half!

I loved it! However, I was just like y'all, waitin' on the edge of my seat for Toni to walk through that door and say somethin' sassy like, "It's 'bout time, girl! We gettin' old waitin' on you to get yo' self a man!" I was NOT happy that they didn't bring her back for the proposal. OMG! That proposal had me in tears! It was sooo beautiful. Best believe I had me a talk with God about gettin' a beautiful proposal like that (not exactly like Joan's, but with the same kind of romantic vibe).

Now since they didn't have the tenacity to bring Toni back for the proposal, let's all hope that should the show return in the fall, Toni will show up for the wedding.

It's also possible that Jill Marie Jone didn't want to come back to the show.
If I recall correctly, she left the show.

Urbanizd---I agree, bring back Half & Half!! I loved that show. Big Dee's wigs, Lil' Dee's clothes, Mona's boyfriend...what was not to love?
