Usually people in the US Army are...not the type of people that join frats/sororities.

=========================

Actually, its been my experience that a very healthy percentage of Army officers who are not West Point grads (no social Greek system there) tend to be fraternity men. There are fewer sorority women among the female officers but there is still a good representation. When I deployed in 2003 I was surprised and impressed by how many fraternity men were in leadership positions in combat arms units.

My office is filled with Greeks as it is a very young company with a lot of people working here right after graduation. My cube is next to a DU, I have a DG on my team, my friend was a Chi-O, I know two sigma Chis... the list goes on.
