I live in a post-war building that doesn't have any insulation to speak of. I used to live downstairs and now live upstairs. Noise from neighbors is just something I live with.

I have had a few neighbors who haven't felt that way. I had one neighbor downstairs who apparantly liked to sleep late. She called the manager and told them that I close my front door too loudly in the morning. LOL. If the fact that my door is swollen and old and we live in earthquake territory is all you've got to complain about you need a life!

I had another neighbor who lived next door to me who used to pound on the wall when I talked on the phone in my bedroom. She'd leave nasty notes on my front door that my alarm clock was too loud and she somehow got my phone number and started crank calling me and screaming at me in spanish. Boy was she surprised when I screamed back in spanish. I wound up calling the landlord on her b/c I couldn't take the harrassment anymore and b/c her pounding on the walls knocked stuff off my walls and cracked my pictures. I was a very happy neighbor when she moved out.

Neighbors are a pain in the butt, but my philosophy is that we just have to live with them until we can afford not to.
