I know how it is to have your car broken into. Makes you feel so angry and helpless!
I had 2 huge baskets of freshly cleaned laundry stolen from my boyfriend-at-the-time's car a couple of years ago, not too long after I'd graduated college. (We had taken my car to pick up a movie and were only gone about 30 minutes.) Included in the stolen items were several of my irreplaceable DZ shirts.
I always swore that if I caught a stranger in my neighborhood wearing my shirt, I'd mow them down with my car and ask questions later!
