In hindsight, I should have realized that would be more offensive to others than it seemed to me. I apologize; I also deleted it. The comment stemmed from my frustration that society percieves it acceptable to label things such as groups [like GLO's], scholarships and opportunities "for non-whites only", while to do the same for the Caucasian race would be tantamount to declaring yourself a member of the Ku Klux Klan. However, if the Divine Nine wants to sponsor a BGLO's only event then they certainly can.
PM_Mama: On my campus, the GLO's not part of the 'Divine Nine' are referred to as "historically white organizations" because they are, well, historically filled with white people.

Oh Jesus, here we go again.
For the record, even though my organization's 11 Founders were white, we initiated our first non-white member 49 years after our founding.
To fantASTic, a note of caution. Many people take offense to calling non-D9 "historically white organizations". Tread carefully.

OTW: Thanks. I will. I use the term because it's how our Office of Greek Life refers to us; I assumed it was standard. Apparently this is not true. My chapter has always had a minority population in it during its existence on campus, so I suppose the term IS misleading.
