my chapter was in the same boat a few years ago. Here are a few ideas to make the transition smoother.
1) cluster bump- works like a charm. (It's explained in other reply's)
2) Sisters from other chapters and alums- we always explained that by using something to the effect of that all of chapters and alumnae love helping each other out in anyway possible.
3) ***Same shirts, different colors***- especially on day one, we all wear the same shirt (usually like an express metro-tee) embroidered with our letters, and each girl gets to choose one of three different colors. It creates an optical illusion and makes it look like there are a lot more sisters there than there really are.
