It appears that Zeta, SGRho and Iota are included in this new authorized licensing agreement while we opted out.

I think this is a wonderful idea that they have come up with to resolve the matter. I look forward to the products that they will be coming out with. I also hope they will also have an agreement to sell items to those they didn't represent before (Zeta, SGRho and Iota). And to Converse, it's not too late to do a centennial shoe for the Alphas.

No it's not. Since the centennial was in December, so this techinally the 100th year...

And why did DST opted out? This is what I get for reading too fast.

What did the article in Jet Magazine say?

IMHO, I think that it was a good idea to opt out....I sense that with the success of "Stomp the Yard" and the increasing appearance of stepping in mainstream media (Today show, NFL, Grammys, Gardisil, Dust Devil & Starbucks commercials) we are going to have any and everybody running to get these shoes....trying to emmulate their "favorite" greek org.

Although the other 8 will get paid under the licensing agreement, how happy will the members be to see their colors and founding date on anyone with $75 bucks to spend?

Dr. Rice said that it wouldn't be in the best for Delta to pursue this. As in terms of why, I don't know and National declined to explain much futher.

I didn't think about it as in terms of with the popularity of step shows and Greek culture has gotten lately. But I doubt you will see these shoes at Foot Locker. Most likely, they will try to sell them on the Internet and try to have guidelines on ordering.

MPO, I wish that Delta would have joined in this agreement. It will not only benefit the sorority with additonal funds, but would have also help sorors who are getting their feet in the door as in terms of marketing. But considering Delta's history with para, I shouldn't be too suprised. Also, since the products are from Converse (which is owned by Nike, BTW), the products would be good quality ones.
