I'm not a great test taker either... so I also had to accept that I will more than likely not be going somewhere like Georgetown or Harvard But it's ok, I'll end up where I'm supposed to be...just like you will! Good luck girl! And good luck to all the GC'ers who are testing in June!

I started posting in this thread about a year ago when I was looking at Masters of Literature programs. Wow how my plans have changed since then!
After alot of thinking (and praying), I've changed my direction. I realized that I would prefer a degree that is more easily applied to a specific career path.
As of right now, I've requested application materials for 2 programs that I've decided that I'm defintely interested in:
*Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling (requires application, 2 recommendations, interview, and a minimum 2.75 GPA)
*Masters in Public Administration (requires application, 2 recommendations, GRE scores, and a minimum 3.0 GPA)
And although I was DEAD SET against staying at my undergrad for grad school, these 2 programs at KSU are top 10 in the state of Ohio. So staying at Kent is a definite possibility. I'm still planning on looking at maybe 2 other schools!
Wish me luck!

I plan to go to law school next year and right now studying for the LSAT. It's not as horrifying as I once it would be. It's really a matter of disciplining yourself and taking practice tests over and over. I have about 18 weeks before I take the sept/oct test.

My graduate school program requires us to have an internship at some time... Well I just found out that I have one for my first summer... Yes, this summer... I got into the NASA Planetary Science Summer School at JPL in Pasadena, California and my committee already agreed to count that as my internship... I am very very excited...

yay! so i've decided that i want to go to graduate school in either:
secondary education - math (either to teach or work in curriculum development)
or
some sort of race/gender-type degree tied with adolescence studies (continuing what i studied in undergrad)
but i'm kind second-guessing all of this, like i want to do something else.
ok, so here are my schools off the top of my head:
NYU (my alma mater)
UPenn
UNC
Howard
now realize that these are all for name's sake, i've minimally researched what programs are at these schools. i'm planning for 2008, so i've got time to research. anyone have school suggestions? aside from the usual things i'd want in a graduate program, im looking for the following:
1. to get out of NYC (lived here all my life)
2. a more school-centric community (NYU wasnt the greatest at it, but it existed minimally, and i think a lot of that was because i was an RA and involved with student life)

I posted this in my other thread but I'm off to get my masters in geology and environmental science. Not sure if it works out as 2 seperate ones or just one big one but I'm stoked either way.

O.K. My first semester of grad school was actually a very good one. I took a class during Winter term and aced it. It was quite a bit of work but nothing I couldn't handle. Now I'm in the spring term and I'm ready to beat my head against the wall. I always have something due or to do. My load is unbelievable and I'm only taking 3 classes. Holy Crap I didn't see this coming. I'm keeping up and really busting my butt like crazy because I have a 4.0 and am determined to maintain it.
Wowzers. I knew grad school was not going to be easy but this semester is really showing me how difficult it can be.
