Alpha Chi Omega- I love their philanthropy for victims of domestic violence. I also remember when I attended University of North Florida and I saw the AXO girls. I thought they were just awesome and had this sisterhood that I just loved.

Alpha Delta Pi- First. Finest. Forever!!!! Yay!! What can I say? I love them.

Alpha Epsilon Phi- How could you not like a sorority represented by a giraffe?

Alpha Gamma Delta- The colors are so fun. It reminds me of being a kid.

Alpha Omicron Pi- I was just looking at the website and I learned something. I did not know that one of the symbols was the wheat. I like the connection that it has to the new member pin being the sheaf. That is cool.

Alpha Phi- I like one of your flowers, the lily of the valley. It is so pretty.

Alpha Sigma Alpha- I like that the org abides by the ideals of Christ, Saint Valentine, Hermes, and King Asa. I wonder if Asa has anything to do with the naming of the sorority...

Alpha Sigma Tau- I like that they have different pins for women who have been members for 25 and 50 years.

Alpha Xi Delta- I love teddy bears!

Chi Omega- Your colors are awesome. And I love everything about the sorority. There is so much history and ideals that fascinate me.

Delta Delta Delta- I like the initiated member pin.

Delta Gamma- I love the colors and the cream colored rose.

Delta Phi Epsilon- The open motto: To be rather than seem to be.

Delta Zeta- The turtle is so cute!!

Gamma Phi Beta- I think it is cool that GPhiB was the first to use the word 'sorority'.

Kappa Alpha Theta- Theta is one of my favorite sororities. And you get Sheryl Crow as a famous member!

Kappa Delta- I think that the open motto: "Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest." is beautiful.

Kappa Kappa Gamma- When I think of Kappas, I think of class. And the colors are awesome.

Phi Mu- I love the creed and believe that it should represent all women.

Phi Sigma Sigma- I was looking at the symbols and I noticed a somewhat Eqyptian theme. That is cool.

Pi Beta Phi- Thank goodness there was no chapter at my school. It may have given a very hard decision to make. I know I ended up where I was meant to be, but I sure do love those Pi Beta Phis!

Sigma Delta Tau- Your website is stunning!

Sigma Kappa- Lavender is my favorite color!

Sigma Sigma Sigma- I know other sororities have the skull and crossbones symbol, but for Tri Sigma, I like that it goes with their open motto "Faithful Unto Death".

Theta Phi Alpha- The badge is beautiful.

Zeta Tau Alpha- The whole sorority is beautiful. It has the princess feel...obviously having to do with the the five pointed crown. I just like Zeta girls. They are really proud of their sorority.

ΑΧΩ-I love the badge. It's very, very unique.

ΑΔΠ-I know ADPi's and personally I think they set a great example for others to follow as far as sisterhood goes. They seem to really be close to each other and appreciate each other. I think they really exemplify their motto: "We live for each other."

ΑΕΦ-I think the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS foundation is extremely relevant today since AIDS has become a world epidemic. It's also cool that the foundation was started by a sister who turned her personal tragedy into a way to help the entire world.

AΓΔ-Well, I'm obviously prejudiced. I love my girls, I love that we're the squirrels (even if it's hard to find stuffed squirrels or squirrel jewelry), and I think we are pretty diverse. We were also the first to adopt a philanthropy, the first to have a non-caucasian initiate, and have the widest span of chapters. And we have a chapter in Hawaii! She's yours, she's mine, she's an Alpha Gam girl!

ΑΟΠ-Four of my favorite people are AOPi's, including my cousin. They're all really awesome girls, so I think that reflects on the sorority. I also love the pandas. They're so cute.

AΦ-I love their creed. It starts with "I believe in my fraternity", and I think that's essential to any good sisterhood.

AΣΑ-(I know that isn't gold, but it's the closest there is here.) I like the idea of the four exemplars. It just seems like a really good idea and a good way to pick role models to strive to be like.

ΑΣΤ
-Habitat for Humanity is such a great philanthropy, and I bet this means they have to go out and get their hands dirty sometimes. It's a really rewarding way to help someone in need.
ΑΞΔ-I know it's corny, but I'm in love with their colors. I also love "The Pen is Mightier than the Sword".

ΧΩ-I know Chi O has a great national reputation. They're really great girls on our campus, and that's who I preffed. I think they have a good amount of diversity here, and they just really seem to always present themselves in the best possible way, which is really admirable.
ΔΔΔ-I hope that's the right kind of blue! It's one of the coolest badges I've seen. Top five. I also love the dolphin...it's one of my favorite animals.

ΔΓ-I like the anchor...it's a strong symbol, I think. I also think it's seriously cool that they actually have their own kind of flower.
ΔΦΣ-That's the colors of my school...cool! And I have to say I looooovvveeee the unicorn mascot!

ΔΖ-I really like that their creed is addressed "To the world...". It's nice to have people bond in the common purpose of making the world a better place.

ΓΦΒ-Did you know the Doublement twins were Gamma Phi Beta's? That's awesome!

ΚΑΘ-Gotta love the kite! And the first women admitted to Phi Beta Kappa were Thetas.

ΚΔ-Well, my mom, aunts, cousin, and I think a grand-aunt are KD's, so I like them, obviously. I'm a little prejudiced to liking them!

ΚΚΓ-The first to set up women's service centers. They also have the key as their badge, which is really cool.

ΦΜ-The Phi Mus I know are very dedicated to their organization, which I think reflects on Phi Mu as a whole.

ΦΣΣ-The sphinx is a really awesome mascot. They were the only sorority without ritual based in scripture when they began.

ΠΒΦ-I think it's cool that they own the property where they began, the Holt House. That's an priceless part of their history that their members can enjoy in the future.

ΣΔΤ-I like that they were begun in response to "closed doors" with the intention to run an organization more respectful of individuality.

ΣΚ-The study of aging and being involved with Alzheimer's disease is really impressive and unique.

ΣΣΣ-The sailboat and the skull and cross bones on the badge are very unique and cool. The doll collection is also really, really cool and is a great way to record history.

ΘΦΑ-The compass is a great symbol for many reasons...and penguins. You HAVE to love penguins.

ΖΤΑ
-The crown is a great symbol, and the badge is gorgeous. Breast cancer is also a great disease to fight because it is so prevelant, especially among women. I didn't realize the "think pink" slogan I'd seen was actually registered to ZTA!

I love this thread by the way! I learned a lot about all these sororities...things I definitely never knew before.

since a couple of people have asked about it

For those who are wondering what Gamma Phi's color "mode" is, it's light brown. I've been told that technically "mode" is any lighter shade of a true color, but I don't know if that's correct. Anyway, basically our formal colors are dark and light brown, with pink added as an informal color. The brown colors come from a professor at Syracuse (Dr. Brown) who let Gamma Phi use his study for their first meetings.

Alpha Gam's Squirrel

The Alpha Gam squirrel does have a name. It's Skiouros, which is the Greek word for Squirrel. Here is a brief description of Skiouros:

"In the days when Gamma (Wesleyan Univ - Middletown CT) first made the triple colors of red, buff, and green her own, some of her energetic number sought a mascot to symbolize the characteristics of the colors and progress of Alpha Gamma Delta. In the autumn tints, so beautifully dear to us in our song of that name, they received the suggestion, and the little squirrel, typical frequenter of autumn haunts, was chosen as the mascot...Our little friend, we find is also nimble and agile - he leaps from branch to branch and accomplishes much progress...to symbolize the spirit that never dies, the spirit of energetic alertness and progress."

Unfortunately, Gamma Chapter is now inactive..but you never know when a Gamma squirrel will pop up again!

Thanks! I made it just brown on my post...there's not even two brown selections.

That's really cool though...and I have to say I love the combination of pink and brown.
