I'm a big believer in that if these girls wanted me as bad as I wanted them, they wouldn't have cut me during formal recruitment. I would simply give a group (that maybe I didn't want as much) a chance because they saw something in me that the others didn't.
I just have a bad attitude toward the whole "I didn't get to go where I wanted, so I just try, try again!" thing. There are sooo many girls on my campus that wait 2, even 3 years waiting to get into the group they want.
But a lot of girls DO end up happy this way! I was a transfer open bid, so I don't think there is anything wrong with getting a bid like that!
It gave me the chance to slip in and know the ropes before formal recruitment began. Plus, it would have been uncomfortable for me to go through rush with all the freshman at that time. Being older does have its advantages!
