If someone is released after open house it is not like the sorority really "knew" that perspective member all that well. Maybe she was shy or didn't feel well or maybe the potential member reminded the sister rushing her of the girl who just slept with the sister's boyfriend. There is 1001 reasons why someone is released and many are not a clear indication that potential member will never be in XYZ.
During COB, potential members and the chapters get a different view of each other.
I would encourage everyone who is released or drops out of formal recruitment processes for whatever reasons to pursue COB. It is there to be an alternative form of recruitment because just like one chapter does not fit all, one form of recruitment does not suit every potential member!
