Well I am sad she's not going back to Alpha Phi....but to be released from only 3 and getting as a pnm to release an additional 2 is pretty darn amazing in this recruitment. With 17 chapters...I know that the releases are pretty heavy after open house (or at least I know Alpha Phi had to release 40%+ of the girls they saw)
I talked to our educational leadership consultant late last night...Alpha Phi is doing amazing....they had phi-nominal returns!!!

I know - here I was thinking that I had a pretty good rush back in the day at Miami, but my sister is definitely putting me to shame. She was even really disappointed with getting dropped by three because her roommate and two friends didn't get cut at all. I had to explain that that's definitely unusual!

I've heard a lot of girls getting upset at SEC schools when they get cut from, like, half the groups- and lots of other girls would kill for results that good. These days, you can be thrilled if you end up going to 2-3 prefs you like there and pledging a group you like.
The 2006 stories of 3 girls we know:
1 went through a very harrowing rush at Auburn and finally ended up Zeta.
1 went through a delightful rush at Ga Tech, never got cut, and went Zeta.
1 didn't go through formal rush at Shorter, got a call from a ZTA friend-and is now a Zeta.
All within a few weeks of each other!

Yea, Miami can be brutal - when I went through four years ago, I only got to cut four groups. And that was considered to be a good rush!

I can still remember some of the girls I know being brought nearly tears last year after they got cut (of course, they got over it quick, fast ,and in a hurry by the next round). Your sister must just be one of those perfect rushies. Good for her!

Remind your sister - are her two freinds double legs? And at least one chapter she is a legacy of that chapter. I would say that chapters that had to make heavy cuts, cut her for risk.

ADPi, Gamma Phi and Theta -- three very strong groups, if I do say so myself!
Can't wait to see where she ends up!

I just got back from Oxford...my sister was thrilled and excited to receive a bid from her top choice, purple, also known as...
Kappa Alpha Theta!
Obviously everyone has figured out that pink was ADPi and gray was Gamma Phi. She loved all of her choices but knew in the end that Theta was right for her. My mom (a Theta) is absolutely ecstatic! Of her best friends, three went DZ and one went Alpha Phi.
I'm pretty sure quota was 50 (Aphigal can confirm). ADPi took 53, and I'm not sure of any other results yet.
