I think you mean The Serpent and the Rainbow but that's okay...you know that I heart you, sugar.

Indeed I did. Somedays, there just isn't enough caffiene in the world . . . especially as I get older and older.

That theory was pretty interesting. Definitely didn't change my mind about Dumbledore being dead though.

But GEEZ! I started reading some of the forum and those people started to get WAY too carried away with some of the ideas (IMO). I had to stop reading it cause it was annoying me.

One person actually said something like "DD could have fallen off the tower, then lifted the body bind on Harry, then broken the fake horcrux, then found the note, then.... blah blah blah." Right dude, he did all of that after being hit with a curse (even if it was a "soft" one) and while falling (even if it was slowed down". Sure he did. And just ignore the fact that he didn't even have his wand on him at the time.

And what is with people saying that Snape was casting two spells at the same time? One verbal, one non-verbal?!?!? Are you kidding? How would his wand know which one to listen to?

Some of that stuff just seems WAY too out in left field- even for JKR.

I really did find the idea of the lake in the cave being a potion really interesting though. But wasn't that a REALLY big lake? Can you imagine how much potion it would take to fill that up???

(1) where does JKR ever say that a portrait can only be in the HM office if the subject is dead; and (2) the theory is that DD drank the draught of the living death, and thus only appears to be dead (in a very deep sleep resembling death), and the portriat shows DD sleeping.
I do think there might be something to these ideas though. The idea that the portraits don't necessarily have to be of DEAD headmasters, but merely PAST headmasters. *shrug*

Actually, that's something that I think one of the most accomplished Legilimens could probably do.

But you're right. Some of those people really need to come out from under the rocks and live in reality for a while.

Makes sense to me. I really hate the thought of DD actually being dead. I hate the thought of Snape being the one who killed him. I'm still really torn about Snape, which is probably the intention of JKR, to be questioning everything about him.

I still absolutely believe that Snape is not completely evil. I really think that DD knew everything- about the unbreakable vow and that Snape was going to have to kill him. And that Snape has still been a double-agent. After all (as someone in those forums pointed out) at the end of book 6, when the Death Eaters were running away, he could easily have grabbed Harry and taken him directly to Voldemort. But, he didn't. I think that says something.

But, I have yet to be convinced that DD is still alive somehow. I think it makes SO much sense that Harry has to go down this last path WITHOUT his help. Think about it- Harry is about to become an adult (at the beginning of book 7). It is time for him to stand on his own 2 feet. Of course, he will have his friends right by his side, but this time HE has to do the work. I see it as a HUGE transition that he has to make to become a man.

And I just don't think it would make sense for JKR to go through all of that and then just say, "Oh- my bad. DD only 'appeared' dead." I guess I think it would make for a weak ending.

Wow, I sound very heated in all of these posts... I promise I'm not!!! Haha.

Just a quick FYI: J.K. has updated her website & the mystery door is open again. You get to take the 2nd WOMBAT exam. If you still have your code from the first test, rack it out & use it. If not, you'll have to get another one & not have both tests recorded together.

SHE HAS RELEASED THE TITLE OF THE 7TH AND FINAL BOOK!!!

(sorry for the Capslock but my inner fangirl hasn't stopped screeching since I woke up this morning to the news)

I won't spoil the tile for those of you who'd rather do the Hangman by yourself but here's how to open the door.

Go to the locked door b/c it is now open. Click on the door in the mirror and a tree will appear. Click on the top portion of the main door and a wreath will appear. Then click on the ceiling of the room in the mirror and strung garland will appear. Then click on the spider web next to the little table and both spider webs will appear. Finally, click on the windchime. This is tricky b/c you have to click on one chime specifically (the 2nd to the right) and a key will appear. Grab the key and open the door. Click on the present and a hangman game will appear. Have fun!

Thanks for the tips!

I'm not sure how I feel about it. The title doesn't seem as impactful as her others.

The title is ominous and foreboding. I'm excited and can't wait for the book to come out.
