Ona college campus you show your interest by attending events--service as well as social--you don't have to verbalize it. But on the alumnae level unless you tell someone of your interest how are they to know? Most alumnae chapters do not have open service events they don't need to, because they enough members to make an impact. And just because someone comes to a social event doesn't mean they are interested--they may have just wanted to have a nice evening.

Discretion is fine, but don't take it to the extreme.

Lastly, and most important, being a sisterfriend here on GC does not automatically translate to a prospect, nor is the intent to identify anyone as such. It is someone who is not a Delta but enjoys the discussion in this forum. As I see it someone could be a sisterfriend on all of the D4 boards. For example on the other NPHC sorority boards I am a sistergreek. If I were not greek, I would be a sisterfriend.

I agree. I first heard the term sisterfriend outside of GC, outside of Greek Life in its truest sense of the word. I have friends and I have sisterfriends type of deal.

@3strikes, I see you deleted your posts in this thread.

I've been reading them as they have been posted along with Kamryn's post, but just not had the words to yet express myself.

We like having sisterfriends on GC! I've seen many women come on GC like "OOOOOOOOOOOOO WEEEEEE Imma be a Delta! Delta is the only way for me! etc etc" and some of them got SHUT DOWN on GC publicly. Some of them come with indiscreet usernames, i.e. IWillBeDSTin2004, LOL.

On GC, we are not going to give you the keys to the kingdom. In this sense, those keys are membership into DST. We don't know you well enough to do that. We are not discouraging you from posting on GC, pursuing membership, and the pursuit of happyness.

We just ask you to be cautious in expressing your Delta desire.

I encourage you to stay on GC as a poster. If you have not done so already, read old threads that pertain to membership. Not just in DST, but in all of the D9. You'll gain an appreciation as a prospective. Just as you prepared for graduate school, so must you prepare for membership into a D9 organization.

Posting on GC, primarily in the D9 forums, means we really do not talk about membership intake, preparing for membership intake, etc. Looking at the first page, you see television shows, games, current events, etc.

We have fun on GC but we also discuss the issues.

Belated welcome to you and anyone else who joins GC.

It was not my intent to discourage you or anyone else who is interested in membership in any of the D9 organizations from posting on GC. It was just an observation that I was making.

Here's a suggestion just read people's comments and take from them information that you think is relevant and with the rest "Put It Where, Back There."

Yes, I did delete my quotes because I did not want people to jumping down my throat for the views that I expressed on here. When I signed up for GC I thought that this was a place where everyone could express their views freely.I underestimated how many people would go off the handle because of somethings that I have said. Again I don't have a probem defending anything that I have said or done. I guess that someone has to be the target, so pm me with your issues. I think that of the views I am expressing hit a little to close to home for some folks on here...

I also recoginize this is a place for women to talk about any kind of issues greek or non-greek. But I think it is a little bit too far fetched if you expect people to come on here and not discuss what the name of this website is "Greek Chat". Maybe I am the minority in this...

greetings from the NY! I finally finished reading through the thread whole thread and im new to GC so i dont know how everything works just yet. I have read the torch to guide you, and I thank all the members for being so helpful to the sisterfriends. I cant wait to get to know you all.
