I was listening to some legal experts discuss why there is such a double standard in female teacher/male student vs. male teacher/female student cases.
The main reason that many of the female teacher cases are pleaded out instead of going to juries is twofold.
#1 - Female jury members will usually tend to sympathize with the female teacher if the argument is put forth "I couldn't help myself. I fell in love." Women tend to look at sexual relationships as love instead of lust. (Many, not all.)
#2 - Male jurors will tend to think "Oh, yeah, that 16 year old kid was hittin' that. Wish it could have happened to me." (Note some of the comments of my fellow fraternal members on this site.) The guys think of how lucky the kid was and won't find the teacher guilty.
I agree with RU OX Alum. If it had been Mark LeTourneau, instead of Mary Kay, and Vicki SomewaylonglastnameIain'tevengoingtotry, instead of Villi, people would have been calling for a public castration.

I have a 15 year old step-son. If any teacher pulls that shit with my son, I will demand blood. Sorry but regardless of how hot they may be, male or female, adults should not be sleeping with minors. Sorry.

The ones who get caught arent. I'm aware of a few young male teachers who have paid some extra attention to attractive female students. Although, generally the female student was the one initiating the extra-curricular activity...There is a difference between the old pervert math teachers and the 25 year old guy who the 17 and 18 year old girls flock to. Those guys rarely seem to get caught.

A HUGE court case just wrapped up in Vancouver about a male teacher who had sexual relations with many female students in the 1970s & 1980s. I think he was found guilty on some counts but not all. It took place with female students from Prince of Wales Secondary School, in their "Quest" program, which was kind of like "Outward Bound" for kids. He would described by some to have been "movie star handsome" (although he's hella-old now, so it is hard to tell if he was or was not).
If you google "Tom Ellison" and "Quest", you should get some hits.
The judgement is here.
He also ended up marrying one of his former students. I think he is a big fat eeeeewwww, myself.

If it was a male teacher, it would be sick. Given how she looks in her mug shot, which are not usually flattering, she must be smokin'. If I were 15 and it were me, I would be kicking myself now for not keeping my mouth shut about it.

I just don't get it. She's hot, so why does she have to get a 15 year old drunk to sleep with her? Umm can't she get one a little older? I mean it's great for the 15 yr old and all, but what about her? Who wants to sleep with a 15 yr old?
