It's not uncommon, but at a large Greek school like LSU (I am assuming you mean Louisiana State) your options may be limited. Go through rush, but keep an open mind.

Go for it LSU182!

The sophomore I wrote a rec for did extremely well during rush and pledged her first choice. She did, however, have friends in multiple sororities on campus, most of which she met in her classes. My advice is to get involved and meet as many people as possible.
