Ok kids, I need an opinion. I'm contemplating buying these since I've been wanting a nice pair of classic black heels. Is it ridiculous to spend that much on shoes that are so simple?

I think I'm going to. The Neimans by my house has them in my size...... I hope they'll have them tonight.

No, not at all. Sometimes the simplest shoes are the most expensive because the maker can sell them all the time. Whenever I try to find simple black slingbacks, it's impossible because the least expensive ones have ugly super-trendy details.
Whenever I go to Saks, I drool over the MBs because they are very well-made. It's hard for me to justify them, however, when I have to dress for visits to a construction site 85% of the time.

I found them at Nordstrom Rack. Normal price is $74.50. I paid $34.50 including tax. They are a half size larger than I usually wear, but they fit all right (my feet slide around a touch but not too badly!) and they were the only pair in the store in red. And they are just as awesome in person.
Even better: Nordstrom.com is still selling them for full price online.
