There is a process outlined by the National Chapter of the organization and you are not a member until it is completed (no sorority pin or badge will be mailed to your home to signify you are a member). In a nutshell, the process for joining a NPHC Sorority is stringent and only those who seek out the Sorority are provided with information as to how they could potentially become a member. With that said, maybe NPC orgs shoud review their Alumnae selection process and make the requirements harder to become a member at that level.
It's like working a part-time job being a member of a NHPC Alumnae chapter because you are more exposed to the community and you are charged with carrying out the mission of the sorority on a higher level.

Do you discuss NPHC membership intake online?
That's right, I didn't think so.
Again, the issue here isn't whether or not we support Alumnae Initiation. Most of us (with the exception of one) support it. Many of us do not support Alumnae Initiation discussion.
Please take the time to read through some of the threads when you have the time.

I'm curious as to who, specifically, is an AI who doesn't support AI discussion? Is that every AI who signed "con" on the poll? My understanding was that the poll was whether or not to get rid of the AI subforum... not whether or not it was to be discussed.
If I'm incorrect on that, I'd like to know from AI's (not collegiate initiates) who is against discussing AI and why.

Why should they feel obligated to tell you why?
And why should collegiate initiates be excluded? They have a right to express their opinion if it affects membership into their organization.

What business of yours is that? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions..even when they don't agree with yours.
We are all grown folks here! No one has to explain or justify a doggone thing to you (or anyone else for that matter)!

Gee, last I checked, this was a forum where people are allowed to ask questions. If you don't want to answer, that is fine. I just find it odd that it was said that "many people" are against discussing it, yet no AIs will step up to the plate. Why is that?

I'll step up.
I DON'T WANT TO DISCUSS AI ON GREEKCHAT BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU HAVE TAKEN A GREAT THING AND TURNED IT INTO A TRAIN WRECK.
Over the last year or so since I was initiated there have been way too many people coming on here going about things the wrong way, not taking no for an answer and then getting encouraged by people saying "don't worry, try someone else." Hmmm, maybe sorority life isn't for everyone.
It's a pity too since all the "older" AI's on here busted their butts to get where they were and have done a lot for their organizations, the new ones I don't see what they are doing for their groups to better them.
Now when you report me, spell the name right please!!!

KunjaPrincess, I think this post should serve as template post for the many AIs who share in your opinion.
I agree with everything you just said, but it's a shame that my opinion doesn't count because I'm a collegiate initiate.
If your post does get reported, it's a shame because it doesn't merit a report to the AI sub-forum mods and I hope they take note of that.

I'm asking a simple question.. have been cordial and polite... so why the hostility? You know, this is exactly how the "train wreck" starts... the hostile answers to simple questions. Let's put blame where it's due.
Now, can you please clarify? Exactly what is the "wrong way"? and.. who has "not taken no for an answer?" Who said "don't worry, try someone else?"
You see.. when an untruth is told often enough.. people start to believe it.
As an aside.. I wonder if the hostile remarks are purposely started by the people who want to see the AI forum go away.. because they want the trainwrecks in hopes John will do away with it?
I'm curious as to what the "older AIs" have to say regarding their opinions on whether AI should be discussed or not. Any "old AI" want to chime in?

I'll step up and echo that same sentiment.
