It's a fun one! It's one of my favorite sporting event chants actually (though doesn't come close to punching my fist to a rousing round of 'Hail to the Voctors'!).

I loves me some "Joe Kings" (as my husband likes to call him).
hahaha, ok, you're right - I shouldn't have gone with 'lame' because lame ones are usually the best, let's be totally honest.

I think mocking the chants, though, is totally fine - they were prohibitive underdogs, and won. That's what happens.

i think other than the "drama" that was mentioned above posts, that it's been a pretty interesting series so far, and I look forward to enjoying the conclusion

(Kathy you might appreciate this little hijack...)
My fiance is home in Detroit this week with tickets to the home games. He had so much fun last night with his brother he got a little drunk & bought some hideous Tigers jacket. If he thinks it's hideous I can only imagine what it looks like. I told him it needs to STAY in Michigan. LOL

ROOOAR!

LOL, Michelle. After the win my husband offered to buy me a jacket like the team was wearing. I said, "WTH would I want that?" If he was drunk when he got it, it's got to be bad!!

Hey, how'd he get tickets?!? It's my dad's 60th birthday this week and we'll be back in Detroit for Game 6 - so if it gets that far we'd love to take him to the game. So far we've had no luck tracking down a pair.

I got a text msg just aftermidnight that they had won. I'm sure it was an after the game & a few beers purchase!

Tickets came thru some sports-world connections. He knows someone at MLB who hooked him up. Tho he didn't want to 'owe' him so he paid for most of them I think. Which I think is crazy considering he could get the MLB guy Knicks or Nets tickets & call it a fair trade. Well ok not FAIR since these are World Series tickets & the Knick's aren't really the same callibur in the basketball world...but still. Good luck finding a pair - I wish I had better advice!!

The Cardinals REALLY have to beat Bonderman tonight - he's been pretty bad in the postseason, but if he holds it together against the So Taguchis of the world, his ground ball tendencies should really help him.

If the Cards lose tonight, Verlander and Cheatyface back-to-back could get ugly (HI JEFF SUPPAN HI JEFF WEAVER) - however, I'm not sure the Tigers will ever score another run off Carpenter, so winning tonight might end the series in favor of the Cubs Lite.

I about died when I heard Berman say "Winnie the Pujols" last night. Holy shit.

I hope the Tigers win, even if Magglio Ordonez sounds like a guy who would come in the night to kill you.

I think I might be the only person around rooting for the Cards. It's the only thing holding up the house of cards that is Casa Munch.

During last night's game, we were looking at espn.com and it had a pronunciation guide for some of the ball players...Poo-Holes is the way they said to pronounce Pujols.

I am with you in rooting for the Cards. I am from St. Louis and have been rooting for them for a long long time now. Even when I moved to Michigan to go to MSU, I still rooted for my Cards and wore my St. L shirts!!!

I swear I'm not 12, but that's just never not funny.

LOL at valkyrie

If you know Spanish, though, it's not really Poo HOLES. The second sylable is more like hols - short and quick, not a drawn out oooo sound...if that makes any sense?

It's still hard for me to say - I end up saying Pool-hoes. My Puerto Rican husband has to always correct me...
