We did personalized cookies with the new members' names on it for our bid day party. Baked the cookies ahead of time, then wrote the names on them as soon as we got our bid list. The only problem was when one of our new members turned out to be diabetic, and she had this beautiful personalized cookie that she couldn't eat
My personal favorite was homemade sushi. One of my sisters knew how to make it, so on the day of pref, she and I and a couple of other people got together in her kitchen and made a bunch of rolls. All veggie - raw fish doesn't hold up too well in August
The rushees barely touched it, so we had a LOT left over to munch on during our final voting round.
