food for thought

so my friends and i re-watched it tonight and found out these things:

* the book club is reading stephen king's carrie (we re-played and paused it about 15 times, when juliet was saying how this is her favorite book, she kinda flails the book around)

* at the very end, ben (aka henry gale) says "juliet" not julia or julie... it's just that the music kinda drones out the 'et' part - if you turn it up really loud, you'll hear it.

* also, at the end... when juliet is answering jack's questions, she mentions, "THEY called it the hydra." and then says, "that was a long time ago... doesn't matter who WE were... it matters who WE are now."
~so my friends and i are under the assumption that the others were somehow part of this hanso/dharma thing - whether they were "experiments" or not, we're not sure...

I think Carl was a plant to mess with Sawyer's head.

I think that The Others may have found Jack's dad and done their own autopsy.

Why was Sarah so secretive about her boyfriend??? It doesn't seem normal to me.

Okay, if "CARRIE" is Juliette's favorite book, could it be that Juliette has the same psychic qualities that Carrie did?? (For those who've read the book or are familiar with the story/movie -- remember how Carrie, when distressed or mad, she could move stuff with her mind and make stuff [usually bad stuff] happen??).

If so, I wonder if Juliette crashed the airplane with her mind? Remember how she was all flustered and upset and then she burnt the muffins and they went spilling all over the floor? But then the plane crash happened later, when Book Club was underway, some time after the spilled burned muffins incident.

Hmmmm....

it also could have been because she was so flustered with that guy dissing her about the book... ???

Here's a thought about The Others Book Club...do they have any books that are more current than Carrie? I would think that if books aren't included in the supply drop that they would have all discussed any/all books they already have.

Is there some reason why everyone thinks The Others can't leave the island? I've watched every epi, and don't remember any reference suggesting that The Others couldn't leave. They may choose not to, but I would think they are able to. Have I missed something??

Well, they have to be pretty current as far as the times for Juliet to have CD's in her house. Not to mention all the info Juliet had on Jack about his life.

I agree w/you Sydney - remember when they sent Michael away, they told him what bearing to follow and help would be there - its my belief that they have regular contact with the 'outside world'
