what...??!! no update yet? I usually am careful not to start reading threds that I don't think are completed. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait with everyone else.
I think it's awesome that your friend stuck with recruitment after being released by Prada, and "stuck to her guns" when she knew she wanted to SIP, since she would just have dropped Dolce if she had gotten a bid to that house.
And Jocelyn, you are hands-down the best recruitment thread writer I've ever read! now... UPDATE UPDATE!

Jocelyn, I think you are still online (with those of us on the West Coast), so I'm sure you are writing the finale right now......

Well I know you're all anxiously awaiting the end of this story:
So after she decided to only list Dior on her pref card, she went to a room in the student center where PNMs have to remain until bid matching. From the last pref at noon til bid night starts at 6, they cannot leave that floor of the student center except to get food. It's a long wait, but most women bring homework when they show up to meet their SRCs in the morning so they can do it while they're waiting later on.
It's really nervewracking to sit in a room with like 30 other PNMs (it's 2 SRC groups to a room) and listen to them for that long. Some girls she says were FREAKING out about whether they were going to get their #1 or whether they'd made the right choice with their rankings. She was no exception. She didn't want to get released from recruitment, but she KNEW she wouldn't want a bid from that other group. So she tried to keep from thinking that she'd made a mistake in only listing one group. It didn't help that everytime someone asked how she ranked her 2, and she said she only ranked Dior, they'd be like "OMG my SRC told me not to do that because I might not get a bid! OMG!"
So she sat, and sat, and watched a movie. Then she sat some more.
Finally, around 5ish, the head SRC came in and said, "We're ready for you 2 groups to come down and get your bids!" The walk down from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor Greek Life Office seemed SO long. She just wanted to know!
So she gets downstairs and has to wait 30 minutes in line. One by one, the PNMs ahead of her went into the office and returned with opened envelopes in hand. Some were jumping up and down, others were indifferent, some didn't look happy at all. She was nervous now. She was starting to feel like maybe this wasn't going to work...
Well, she said she noticed something when she went into the office. Her SRC was holding an envelope. She'd only listed one chapter on her pref card, so if there was bad news, there'd be no envelope.
She practically snatched it out of her hand and ripped it open. She said her SRC and the head SRC were cracking up because she was so excited and they knew how lucky she was to only list them and get a bid!
After they get their bids, if they accept, the PNMs go downstairs to the first floor and line up to get ready for Bid Night. One by one, the girls walk out the doors and are announced, then they run down the plaza steps to their new sorority!
She looked out the window into the plaza and could see her new sisters and couldn't wait to join them! Finally it was her turn!
She stepped out into the plaza steps and waited for the SRC to read her card: "Beth ______ is a new member of Christian Dior!!!
She ran down so fast that she nearly tripped! She headed straight for the girl who preffed her, who had tears in her eyes!
She was immediately given her bid day shirt and swamped with hugs. She was so relieved to finally be done with recruitment, she didn't know what to do! So her other pledge class members were announced and she was so happy to meet them all! She went to the house, ate cake, and took pictures. When she returned to her room that night. There was a sign up next to her door made her cry just to see it.
It was bear shaped, and it read, "Welcome to Alpha Xi Delta! We love you!"

Ooh that's tight. Congrats to your friend. We have AXiD on my campus, if I was going to join a white sorority I would've joined it.
