I became hooked on the show over the summer while visiting with a friend - spent the entire month of August anticipating the next disc (she got them through Blockbuster) and then got home and bought Seasons 3-6 for myself and got fully caught up 
Maybe because I'm "new" to the show (I would watch them on ABC family and laugh, but didn't know all the backstory and such  ), I really didn't feel that Season 6 was all that bad

You know what royally sucks?
Honolulu is the largest market that currently does NOT have a CW affiliate. That means no Gilmore Girls, OTH, ANTM, Veronica Mars, Supernatural, etc. etc.

I have to say I am disappointed- I saw OTW as the last poster on this thread and thought-- "yeah play by play update from Sandy, I missed the season premier!"

lol, I can play by play if you like, but go to: Gilmore Girls recaps Every week they post a "recaplet" or about a paragraph summary, and then before the next week's episode they have a full recap. (if anyone wants a full recap from last night now I can do that though)
