Convention 2007

Since I am on the Alumnae Director team planning the "Lion's Share Challenge Silent Auction" - I can tell you that there will be items available for purchase and any sister in attendance should be able to have enough $$ to purchase them - even those of us poor alumnae!

I'll give you a sneak peek of how things are being planned...

There will be "grab bags" available for "x" amount of $$ (not decided yet) and those bags will have different ADPi trinkets, memoribilia, etc. in them.

There will be some "bigger" items available for auction - and it will be a silent auction.

I can tell you that a 3-volume set of Loyally and a badge mold (the ADPi badge, not ADPhi or Adelphean) will be part of the auction portion.

All of our proceeds are going to the ADPi Foundation.

Can/Will there be reserves set on items? I'm thinking about donating something, but only if it brings in $x. Is that really tacky, since proceeds are going to Foundation?

You took the words out of my mouth! I've purchased a couple things from ebay, knowing that I would donate them, but darn, I'd like to see that they get at least what I paid for them!

I will ask the "chairs" of the project if they have even thought about that. To my knowledge, you are the first to ask.

I can't believe that Convention is less than six months away! I will finally be attending my first one...it only took 9 years as an ADPi to get there! Has anyone else decided to go?

I'll be there- haven't missed one since 1991

This convention is number 2, number 2, number 2...this is convention #2, have you been to 3? Then I sit down. LOL.

I am keeping my fingers crossed. My brother works for sheraton and will be able to get me a room at the hotel (if available), then airfare. And if I can do like I did in Phoenix, I'll try to just pay for the meals I want to attend instead of paying for everything. But we shall see.

Basically it all boils down to money. I close on my house in May/June so who knows. But I'm definately a saving!
