My Rho Chi was a DPhiE, and came right out and said it! We all liked her, and I'm fairly certain one of our group chose them because of her.

Well I loved my Rho Gamma, but the one that I was actually closest to wasn't in my Rho Gamma group...I had met her the day before Recruitment began she works in a store I happened to go into and we just started talking and hit if off...I was disappointed she wasn't my Rho Gamma, but that didn't stop me from talking to her about my decisions and such...She was the one I told first when I had been cut...I knew she what she was the first say I met her when she accidentally gave a hint about a stone monument thing in front of her house and I knew right away, although she wouldn't admit it to me until Pref night and I had been cut from her chapter since Day 2... Now she is back with her wonderful chapter who took a good friend of mine--Alpha Xi Delta (the friend is JessXica). I haven't talked to her since the end of recruitment, but I still have great respect for her and think she is amazing!

Slight hijack...
A few folks have mentioned the idea of PNMs guessing their PX's affiliation and trying to join the sorority they think their PX is in because they like her. When I did my PX training, we did some role-playing where someone would portray a PNM with a particular question or issue, and the PX had to advise her. One of the scenarios I got was a "PNM" who wanted to join AEPhi because she was convinced that I was one and she wanted to be my sister.
My response was, "Well, you have a 1 in 17 chance of being right about my affiliation. And even if you are right, I'd just be one sister among many. Think about all the affiliated sisters you've met, in each sorority. You should feel at home with the whole group, not just one or two people."
(Y'know, come to think of it, a number of my PNMs did go Sigma Kappa...)

Yeah, in SRC training, the SRC's are actually told not to get into the whole "let's guess what chapter I'm in" thing. Our Panhellenic Advisor tells them to kind of laugh it off and say something like what you posted. It's pretty relevant now especially with Facebook and MySpace. It's SO EASY to find out what sorority an SRC is in. You have a bigger chance of being "outed", so you have to always let the PNMs know that even if you are found to be an XYZ, you are just one of many.

Fun thread!
Mine was a ZTA, but our entire group thought she was a Theta. During the middle of rush, she had us all write down on a piece of paper what we thought she was. It was sort of funny to see her go through all of these pieces of paper and read out "Theta", "Theta", "Theta", "Theta" ... Seriously, pretty much all twelve or so of us thought she was a Theta, but only one in the group pledged Theta, while two (maybe three? I can't remember for sure) went Zeta.

You're not alone! I felt the same way after recruitment! Go through recruitment on the other side next fall and then apply to be a PX that spring for the next fall-- you'll have had the best of both worlds!

I have a good memory, but...
It's been many years since I've thought about this! First of all, I think we called them Rush Counselors and I don't recall one or two being "assigned" to a group of rushees. I don't think I ever had a one-on-one conversation with any of them. I just attended the group meetings and didn't have any questions!
I do remember my OA (Orientation Assistant) was an ADPi. I'm sure that had an impact on me returning to ADPi for pref.

My Orientation Leader was actually in Tri Delta! She graduated before I joined (we have deferred rush and she was a senior my freshman year), but she's been back a lot to help out with various events we've had. My Rho Gammas were in Pi Phi, Alpha Gamma Delta, and Alpha Phi.
