Mine were DG and AEPhi. And I guessed from about Day 2 which chapters they were in. They didn't give anything away--but their personalities fit their chapters well.
5 of us from my Rho Chi group went DG (1/4 of my pledge class!). Our DG Rho Chi was a senior when we were freshmen so it was sad to see her go--but it was great to spend time with her after recruitment (as she held back her 'wild side' until later ).

Mine was a Tri-Delta...she was so sweet! We all found out what she was before the end of the week though - one of the girls in our group was from the same hometown as her and was friends with some of her friends, so the girl ended up telling us what our Gamma Chi was.

I can't remember what mine were.

But when I was the Rush Chair at my chapter, my dorm roomie was a Rho Chi. She was a DG but her group all thought she was a Chi O. When she came to our house she was chatting with me and after they left they said, "See, we told you we knew you were a Chi O". They were all really shocked at the reveal.

Also, one of the girls from my chapter who was a Rho Chi quietly mentioned to me at a party that the she loved a bunch of girls in her group. They thought she was an XYZ. She said she was doing all she could to make them "realize" she was a Chi O b/c she wanted them to go Chi O and was afraid they were picking XYZ b/c they thought she was one. Now, she's my sister and I respect her, but I didn't want a pledge class full of her clones! So I sternly told her that I did NOT want her to risk us getting any sort of infraction, so I better not hear of her revealing her affiliation!!! It must have worked b/c we didn't get any of her crushes - they mostly went XYZ!!!

Were the girls disappointed after they found out?

Has anyone heard of a Rho Chi revealing or hinting at her affiliation to girls in her PX group that she really loves? There were some rumors about it with one PX a couple years ago at my school, but since the PNMs she supposedly told ended up joining her sorority, none of them will talk about it.

I remember a PNM when I was a PX who just loved her PX and preffed at two chapters-- one of which the PX was a member of. These two chapters are pretty similiar. Anyway, that night when the PNMs went to go and rank their final choices, we told the PNMs if they needed to talk to us, they could. The aforementioned PNM was absolutely miserable, shaking and crying while she tried to convince her PX to reveal her affiliation. I'm not sure what happened, but I think the PX did give in or at least gave her the hint she needed. The PNM pledged the PX's chapter and became her little sis. But that's one extreme example! I think the PX's at my school did a good job of being discreet--- disaffiliation back then lasted all summer and we enjoyed playing dress up to seem to fit one stereotype or another or to have the girls guess. Of course, back then it was put a bow in your hair if you want them to think you're an XYZ or wear brown lipliner and white eyeliner to make them guess ABC. (Don't ask. It was the 90s.)

I had 2 Rho Chis (yes, that was waaay back when), one was a Tri Delta and for the life of me I can remember what group the other was from. They were really no help to me whatsoever, but the Rho Chi who was of tremendous help to me was an AGD and it was hard b/c I had fell in love with AGD during recruitment and they had cut me right before pref, that Rho Chi, helped me see it through and also help me see how outstanding Tri Sigma was (and still is ).

My Rho Chi was a DPhiE, and came right out and said it! We all liked her, and I'm fairly certain one of our group chose them because of her.

One or two were, but the house they pledged was friendly with ours, so she assured them they'd see a lot of each other. It was still a top group on campus so there were plenty of other girls for them to love when they got there!

I didn't join Sigma through formal recruitment. But my freshman year, my orientation teacher was an SRC. I had friends that were rushing, so I was curious about it. She would talk to me about going Greek and answer all my questions. In the end, I decided not to go through, because I wanted to focus on school and make friends in the other club I was in.

Fast forward to the spring of sophomore year. I became interested in sororities again, and decided to check out Sigma. So I do informal recruitment & get a bid. That March, I was hanging out at Songfest, which is a big competition that lots of sorority alumnae come back to Kent for.

I'm talking, and someone walks up behind me and says "Jocelyn?' I turn around and sure enough, it's SRC girl in MY letters. She was a Sigma alumna.

My rho gamma was a Kappa Kappa Gamma. I guessed it right everyday out of pure dumb luck. I wasnt really paying attention to guessing all that much.

I was a rho gamma last year, and by the end of the week only about 3 girls in my small group had guessed me, most of them thought I was an ADPi. Which makes sense I have a ton of friends in that chapter right now The end of day one 12 out of 17 girls thought I was an ADPi.

The girls in my big group absolutely horrible at guessing the 4 of us. Very few ever got us right, but they were usually pretty cood about not guessing the chapters we obviously did not fit into.

she was in my rho gamma group (not my rho gamma, but there was 4 in our group) and I DEFINITELY did not see you as a Alpha Xi. I think I said you were an ADPi too (and another group too but I don't remember what I guessed), but I also kept changing my answers until I finally looked at my master look (evil laugh...although a lot of groups on campus could easily have the same people, there are some groups that distinctively are their own (in a very good way).

I completely agree!! She and the others in my group ALWAYS had something great to say about EVERY chapter and while I know they are supposed to, it was never forced it was always volunteered...you could tell they meant it. I know it might sound corny, but thats the truth in my opinion.
