A lot of people died fighting for the South, the large majority of whom did not own slaves. What is wrong with remembering that?

And just about everyone of them was an American....Many good Men, Boys, Women, and Girls fought, bled and died for a cause or reason, their own reason. Under their flag of choice, their banner.

Some people here, given some other postings I have seen, should take some time to read For Cause & Comrades: Why Men Fought in the Civil War by James M. McPherson.

And now, back to the Game.......

All this has the rather poor taste of politics getting in the way of anything good and positive.

this stadium has Z amount of seats, Y amount of season ticket holders, et al.....this is like telling Boston to build another section for the Yankee games or having Michigan build an even bigger stadium for OSU game.......

The funny thing is that Fenway Park would be sold out for a NYY game no matter how big the stadium whereas Yankee Stadium is never full when the Red Sox are in town. Bostonians seem to take the rivalry a lot more seriously than New Yorkers.

Two things on this:

1) I'm 99% sure this is not correct; have you ever tried to get tickets to a Yankees/Sox game at the Stadium? Also, as a Yankees fan, I can tell you that the games are taken seriously.

2) Fenway Park is smaller than Yankee Stadium - thus, it may be true the Fenway seats sell out faster, but both stadiums do indeed sell out.

LOL! This is so wrong I just had to laugh. LOL!

For what it's worth, the past 4 seasons, I've tried to get tickets for the Sox at Yankee Stadium. No luck--they sell out almost as fast as a Yankees game at Fenway. Yankee fans aren't as crazy as Massholes, but to say that the rivalry isn't taken as seriously is a steaming load of bull.

---------------

As far as SC State vs. USC, the SC State fans couldn't buy tickets from USC? I only see this being a problem if and only if the SC stadium sells out for every single game. Race finds its way into some crazy things, but I doubt this is one of them. If any small school in SC were to play USC, I wouldn't be surprised if they got the same # of seats.

This must be new. When we were stationed at West Point, we were always able to get free tickets to the Yankee/Red Sox games. At the time, the Yankees had a generous program that allowed the active-duty member to just show ID at the box office for himself and immediate family on the day of the game. We didn't get great seats, but never had a problem getting all of our seats together.

You're not even close to correct for any recent year - when was this?
