If you want to SIP (suicide) Aquarius because you know that you won't accept a bid from Pisces or Libra then you should. Your recruitment counselor will be trained to strongly discourage it though. If you've had the chance to read a lot of other threads you might know that she's likely under educated when it comes to bid matching and might mistakenly tell you that "you'll get kicked out of the computer" or something else. If you SIP you won't be eligible to be added as a quota addition. However, if you do SIP and don't bid match you'll still be eligible for COR through out the year. If you list Libra or Pisces, match one and then decline the bid, you won't be eligible till next fall.
Also, I would NOT "try to make not as good of an impression on them tonight". If you know with all your heart you don't want Pisces I would suggest politely and diplomaticaly telling the girl at Pref that you do not see yourself in their chapter and have your heart set elsewhere. No reason to drop names. If you do something that leaves them with a bad impression, it may get around to other chapters, including Aquarius. That decision may come back to bite you.
Good Luck and listen to your heart!

What happened to the days of PNMs stringing sororities along until the last minute?
KitKat-- be yourself, keep and open mind and you'll know what you want when you come out of the chapters. If you honestly, truly can't see yourself as a sister at a particular chapter and would hate to wear their letters, be their friends, attend socials and represent them on campus and pay dues to them, then don't put them on your bid card. If you've connected to the members and can see them as your friends, give them a chance and take a chance on them.
Good luck. Keep your options open, but if you'd rather join Al Queda than be a member of XYZ, leave them off your bid card.

Ditto to what she said.

AMEN about SIP - If you would not "run" to your "second choice" then don't put them down. Know, however, that if you SIP their could be a chance that you would end up without a bid at all.
ALSO, I, more then likely, would not tell the chapter that you are not interested in a bid from them, BUT on the other hand I WOULD TELL AQUARIUS that you ARE TOTALLY INTERESTED IN THEM. (not crazy interested but interested)
If you are invited to a sororities pref party you are somewhere on their bid list. You could be the last person on the second list, but you are there none the less. So, whether you are nice or not so nice to your second choice you are on their bid list somewhere.
ALSO (and this happens to every sorority every now and then) the worst thing you could do to a sorority is put them on your bid card then when they offer you a bid you decline. Because, when you write Aquarius 1st then Libra 2nd that means you would accept a bid from either sorority in that order of preference. So, I would rather not see the pnm on our bids matched list and know they SIP'd then to see them on our list and them not "run."
THAT IS MY TWO CENTS - oh yea have fun

I agree!
Seriously, this is the funniest thing I've read on Greek Chat, AND it's good advice:
If you'd rather join Al Queda than be a member of XYZ, leave them off your bid card.

If after pref, the only place you would accept is Aquarius and you wouldn't even give the other two groups a chance on bid day, then I will be as bold to say that you SHOULD SIP Aquarius. Say you listed Aquarius first and Libra second. If you got a bid from Libra, you'd be taking up a spot from someone who may have wanted it but didn't get it, plus you'd be ineligible for COB in the spring and would have to wait again until next fall.
Of course, this all assumes that you would only take a bid from Aquarius, even after experiencing the preference ceremonies.
