This happened less than 2 miles from my house..maybe even a little less distance than that. I am not sure if I heard the crash or not. I did wake up abotu that time that morning but it was nasty looking outside so I assumed it was thunder and I went back to bed. A couple of prominent families in this area had family members aboard the flight that perished and a EKU regent's wife was also on the plane. Seeing pictures, I'm suprised the co-pilot even survived.
CuriousWildcat: If youa re still reading the board I do hope that you choose to go through COB/COR at UK. They have great chapters there!!

It's hard to believe all of the things that led to the crash that could have been fixed.
I was invited to a COR event, but I had practice, but I went over to the house the next day and got a tour and talked to one of the girls. They are going to call me for the next event. At this point I'm unsure if I still want to join. I will only join if I feel a very very strong connection to most of the girls.

I know I haven't updated in a while but here goes...
I went back to a COR event for one house, but didn't feel comfortable at all.
But I have been invited to several events for the women's music fraternity on campus. These girls are great. I feel comfortable with them and I have only been to 2 short events. There is a longer event today and a sleepover type event on friday. I am very excited about this group! There aren't many girls going through the informal recruitment for them, but they said they like it that way, so they really get to know all of the girls. They are not allowed to initiate first semseter students, but they plan to have us pledge/go through the new member period this semester and initiate as soon as possible. I am not sure when they plan on extending bids, but I will keep everyone posted!

That's terrific!! I know some wonderful women from a music fraternity. They loved their collegiate experience and are involved as alumnae as well.
Good luck!

So SAI rush is over. It was a lot of fun and the girls are great, and we got along really well. The members are having a meeting tonight to decide when the "member-in-training" period starts (since you have to have an established college gpa a initiate, they will be pledging this semster and initiatiting next semester). Sometime after they have the meeting they should be giving out bids. I'm very excited and will keep everyone updated!
