Yet the advice that was given directed him back to the chapter and didn't stone him for the question that was asked. There is a way to politely answer a question - everyone doesn't need a beating when asking a generalized question.

That's the exact same thing that I suggested he do btw.

Re: pilot06, reading the link above, at least the moderator of this forum would prefer that questions NOT be asked publicly. This is a policy in the NPHC forums and as such, I recommended that he follow it. When he decided my advice didn't count, well... lets just say I think its funny that he got the same answer again and again.

Who was given him beating? He discounted the same advice you gave and he thanked you for, because the posters weren't D9. (They were obviously NPC.) Yet you aren't D9 either nor in another GLO. Now to me that speaks to assumptions and bad ones at that.

Then 06 comes on and encourages him to ask such questions and compliments him on is name. The experienced MB posters on here know that his question and his name would get him flamed elsewhere.

I guess its all in tone and how he read their information that's all...People can say the same thing in different ways which can be received differently...

I would still like you to notice that no Alphas with any standing around here (aka more then 50 posts) have yet responded. That should speak of the appropriateness of the question.

Dang, the Alpha forum has "tension"?

As mentioned before, the answer to the interest's questions/concerns are "stuck" at the top of this forum's page.

If there are any questions or concerns as to "why or why not", PM the moderator(s).

Drolefille and AlphaFrog,

FOR THE LOVE OF BETSY AND ALL THINGS HOLY...

Just stay out of it, please! You are not part of the Divine 9, you will never be a part of the Divine 9, and just because you've been on GC a long time to see how things are handled DOES NOT make you an authority of how things should be handled in the Divine 9 forums.

Following SkeephistAKAte's lead, "THEY'VE. GOT. THIS. THANKS."

I replied to him because he stated that he was willing to accept any and all advice. It seems odd that you didn't cal out f8nacn in the same way. When he said that it made some sort of difference whether I WAS in the d9 or not, then I stopped. Ironically he then went on to listen to the same advice from someone else. And I wasn't even wearing my mean pants that day.

Thanks for your concern.

Hi Brother,

Just be mindful that we're all different, with different opinions, and none of us speaks on behalf of the Fraternity at large, not even the moderators. Discuss intake matters at your own risk -- sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Really depends on the situation.

All in all, we're on the same page.

I asked that because the purpose of my post wasn't to find out if anybody thought I should, I am my own man. I wanted to know whether or not I should go to the break-off session which would expose my interest in the fraternity. And the responses I got were telling me to do something (go ask the people in that chapter) that would result in exposing my interest. I figured someone who wasn't part of the D9 would not understand the reason for not wanting to put myself out there...hence why the question was asked.
