Forms are something I can see typewriters being very useful for. I just had to fill out a carbon-type form where it had to print through 5 copies - it was SO hard to press down enough to get it to show through. I should've pulled out the old Selectric lol.
I only wish my computer's keyboard was as comfortable.

My boyfriend who was born in '83 and works for the goverment doing something or other w/ computers has never used a typewriter, or even recalls any of his friends using one.
I was born in '84 and thats all I ever used growing up. We didn't get a computer until I was in 9th grade ('98) and even then dad was so particular about it that it was easier for me to just use the typewriter than listen to him being picky about the PC.
Ours was pretty old though, you couldn't hit a button to erase a word/letter...we had to actually place a little white piece of paper coated with white-outish stuff between the paper and the keys, and when it'd type the same letter over it in white, it would "erase" it. I would always just pull the sheet out and use actual liquid white out, I thought that was easier.
