That's the difference. While not all BGLO members feel the need to advertise, many of us do. I'm 8 years in and I don't wear 'nalia but I have a license plate on my car. I have Sorors who are 60 years in who still wear 'nalia almost on a daily basis. It varies based on personal preference.

When I was in college, I saw an OLD man wearing an OLD SAE sweatshirt. He looked sooooo cute and all the BGLO members and other black students were like "awwwww...that's wonderful!!!" However, many (not all, of course) of the white students were laughing at him as he walked through the student commons building. Like they thought he looked ridiculous and needed to hang it up.

This is a common argument but all of our organizations are filled with accomplished people who are changing society and the world. Yet, we are able to multitask and be multifaceted. It isn't hard to do. People do it all the time. It's just that many of your fraternity brothers choose to multitask, and advertise affiliation, with organizations other than the one they pledged a lifetime commitment to.
