macallan25, I'm shocked! You should know, that is a "black" term. Like "homie", "dog", and "bruh".
You seemed very concerned about homosexuals. Do you know that's one of the most common signs of a closeted gay man. To be overly homophobic or hypermasculine.

No, really I think its yall who "don't get it." I'd really like to see some of you come hang out in bars on our campus, and maybe you'd understand. Nobody dresses like you down here, and very few people think like you down here. Quit acting like we're just some poor uneducated folk who one day will see the light. We dress like traditional adults, because we think its appropriate. We vote Republican because we believe the RNC represents our values far better than the DNC does. We don't blame Bush for everything here. We don't favor forced diversity. Down here, black people generally like to hang out with other black people. We are very different cultures, and we like different things. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I personally cannot stand most rap music, "pimped out" cars, urban style, urban slang, and most other parts of ghetto culture. A lot of black people in the south like such things. Thus, I really don't have too much in common with them, so I don't generally choose to hang out with black people who like such things. I also don't hang out with gay people, because I don't agree with homosexuality and have trouble keeping my opinions to myself. I guess somehow all this makes me a racist homophobe...

Dude I get it. Ur so not a racist. U just disdain black "ghetto" culture and are intolerant of gay persons and their lifestyles.

So I should embrace ghetto culture? What a great idea. Lets promote that to all of our kids, sounds brilliant.
intolerance
noun
Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion: bigotry, prejudice. See like/dislike.
Now where did I say that? I said I didn't agree with homosexuality. What they believe and how they act CONFLICTS with what I believe in. Yeah, thats homophobic...Thats ok, continue to call names, its obvious you have no substantive points to make.

"I don't agree with homosexuality and have trouble keeping my opinions to myself." Which in short means you would constantly say offensive things and probably use derogatory terms to describe them and "say things" like you say online.

I don't remember calling you names. I think my points have been very well made. You just choose to overlook them in your narrow-mindedness.

Name calling...like calling people racists and homophobes. Notice I didnt say I hated black clothing or black slang, I said urban, because its not just black people. But in your view, I guess that makes me racist...
I said I don't agree with homosexuality, which I don't, and in an effort not to offend them, I generally don't hang out with gay people. Its not like I'd be slandering them and using gay slurs, but I doubt they'd wanna hear about my opinions on homosexuality. In addition, I dislike a lot of gay culture.
I appears you'll believe whatever you want, regardless of reality. Good luck with that.

But, in not being able to keep your "mouth shut", you demonstrate intolerance. The same intolerance that made our 7 jewels start Alpha. The same intolerance that started Kappa, and any other BGLO. No, it's not cool to promote "ghetto culture" to our children, but it's people like most of the people in this thread, that cannot push away the image of hoodies, white te shirts, crack slanging and such because "white people" constantly label it as black. They inadvertantly shove these ideas in the brains of children and make them think that it's ok to stay in the hood and not better themselves. And the fact that you called it Ghetto culture, is something right there.
Take for example, September 11. It's still all over the news. I cried when it happened. Yes, it was sad for america. What else was sad for America? Hurricane Katrina. I do not DO NOT agree with Kanye West. I think that was the dumbest thing he could have ever done, was to make himself look like an ass on TV. But I haven't seen any major stories about it since it happened. All these black people lost thier lives, thier homes, thier livelyhood, and it gets no airplay. But when it does, they only show the stupid black people. (yea, I said it) The people who wanna loot stores and get some pairs of Air Ones, the people with no power who wanna steal big screen TV's but when they show the white people stealing, they were stealing food. I know plenty of people who were looting from grocery stores so they could live, my ship being one of them, buit they never showed the black people doing that.
I say this to say, that African americans, just as homosexuals are still shown to the majority (white people) as being something that needs to be irradicated. And by continuously perpetuating these stereotypes, you continuously breed hatred, and bigotry, and intolerance.....

You've got to be kidding me. White people push the ghetto culture onto black kids?? I guess white people force black rappers to glorify ghetto culture as well?? That is a huge part of "ghetto culture" in my opinion, shifting the blame on to others to use as a scapegoat for their own shortcomings.

This Thread is so enlightening
What I have learned so far.
Classy=golf, fly fishing, and drunkness, but only if you are wearing appropriate attire and own a boat.
Using terms like faggot ad nauseam does not make you a bigot, but only if you are wearing appropriate attire and own a boat.
Sometimes it is not worth the effort to try and defend or debate with certain people especially if they are wearing appropriate attire and own a boat.
Going back for more insights....Nope, that's it, no more.

I honestly think the argument of this whole thread is due to confusion. I have no idea about what the BGLOs do. My friends and I went to a step show once, we got stares the whole time we were there. We (NPC) have many dance shows too where we pair with fraternities. My friend is a Zeta Phi Beta, but whenever I ask her about her sorority, she won't talk about it. (It's not like I'm asking about secret information either, just about what they did for homecoming)
Do BGLOs really not have mixers? What do they have? What does nupe mean?

What? I'm pretty sure that people across the United States agree that being a racist homophobe is a bad idea.
