For those using Firefox, you can get the Symbol font to show if you follow PenguinTrax's instructions in the first post - only look in the Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/res/fonts folder for the file fontEncoding.properties and open it in WordPad/Notepad

Replace these lines:

# Symbol font
encoding.symbol.ttf = Adobe-Symbol-Encoding

with these lines:

# Symbol font
# encoding.symbol.ttf = Adobe-Symbol-Encoding
encoding.symbol.ttf = windows-1252

Save the file and then restart Firefox and your Greek symbols will show up now.

Ooooohhhh! It worked. Thank you! That has been VERY annoying since I switched to my hubby's old lap top. For some reason it used to work on my old lap top's version of Firefox, but whatever. Works now!
