While the formal recruitment numbers may be lower than expected, the chapter is working hard to increase their numbers thus further strengthening our close sisterhood. To reiterate what Bluealum said, we must remember that quantity does not always indicate quality.
I think it's also important to remember that Delta Iota's formal recruitment numbers are up from last year, and those numbers are up from the year before, and those numbers are up from the year before... while people may be focusing on the fact that Delta Iota does not have 55 new members in Fall 2006, the fact is that the chapter is growing at a reasonable rate. I mean, if they pledged 55+ this year, that would be almost half of the chapter, wouldn't it? I think it's a smart idea to pledge a new member class of a manageable size that is full of quality girls, then add to it in spring with another class of quality girls. I feel confident that the chapter will make quota within a few years if they continue growing at the rate that they have been.

Cool

Did not DG ultimately pledge quota last year through COB and spring recruitment? I really like the idea of a small spring recruitment. You will find women who are thoughtfully going out for a sorority, and who probably have a better idea of what to expect and how to manage their time. And, of course, there are the women who are involved in other things on campus and can't participate in fall recruitment. Some of our best members come through COB!

If you have these results, please post or PM me.

Good luck to the Texas A&M University and University of South Florida and chapters -- they start recruitment today!

Okay, I'm just nosey...but it's about a DG chapter...I know lot's of reasons a chapter would not participate in formal recruitment...but I do not know the specifics for UCF. Can someone PM me and let me know what's going on there...
