Any in the Carnation Nation under the *other* diamond pin?
Good luck to all the Rainbow Girls! I hope they all have a great recruitment week.

Looks like we could use a DG, then.

I think we could use a Theta too! Unfortunately not from Auburn though.....I'm hoping we come back there soon.

Carnation,
I've seen all your posts and I've always wondered (I've only been on GC for a year)....How many daughters do you have? I counted 20 on your list of all in the Carnation Family! Holy Cow! How do you do it? You must be superwoman!
I have a 2 1/2 year old and sometimes she wears me out...I bet there was never a dull moment in your house!

LOL, BBelle!
I finally heard from Yellow's and Green's moms. Red, Yellow, and Blue each had more than 12 invites, she didn't say which groups, so they had to cut a little. Green and Purple dropped out of recruitment after the Pi Chi meeting--something to do with seeing all the gorgeous PNMs in pearls and designer clothes even at the Pi Chi group meeting! I'm surprised by Purple's decision because she's a legacy to a strong AU chapter and had a fine resume. Ladies who helped me with Green's rush--thank you very, very much and I'm still hoping she picks up a COB later when she can see the women in a more relaxed atmosphere.
The girls got their first invitations last night and Yellow told her mom that several girls were crying. The big cuts should come after the second round of parties is finished tomorrow.

So excited, but nervous, too...
My daughter is off to Wooo Pig Sooie land and is going to Go Greek. I'm so excited for her, but so nervous, too. I was not in a sorority in college (and have come to wish that I had been). I have wanted her to Go Greek and am delighted that she wants too as well. U of A has told the girls to dress casually (shorts, jeans for day one and nicer as the week goes by). I am hoping she will not be cut much. Can those of you in the know tell me what she should wear for the preference day(s?) and bid day? Thanks so much for a wonderful thread. Carnation is truly blessed with a beautiful rainbow.

She should get an information packet over what UA's NPC recommends for each day. Pref at Baylor has cocktail dresses, but I don't know about Auburn. Everyone recommends wearing a memorable or vibrant color for the last day, though--that way, your daughter will stand out more! Good luck!
Carnation--sorry that the two dropped out. I hope they get to see that it's more than just dressing up in fancy clothes. I'm glad that everyone else seems to be getting invitations back, though--hopefully, the week will end well!

I'm sad to hear that 2 girls dropped out. I'm excited for the rest of the colors though. Tomorrow seems to be a big day for them and I can't wait to hear more.

Wow - dropping out after the Pi Chi meeting?! That's serious stuff!
Do you all realize how insane we are? There is SO much pain, yet SO much joy in these threads - and we remain bonded to them like super glue! ACK!!
Carnation, I hope the rest of your rainbow gets the bids they want!!

It's sad that the rush pressure got to Green and Purple... but I'm glad the other ladies got so many invites!

I'm off to work, but I just got an email from Red's mom and she said that today's the last half of the second set of parties. All the girls have heard that the big cuts come tonight and that's always been my experience with competitive schools....anyway, she's decided to go down tonight after work too and stay there for any fallout that there might be. I suppose there are lots of moms down there; back in the day, rush was strictly closed and we had no phone or other outside contact.
We're hoping that someone will call about the rest of recruitment! Friday-theme day, Saturday-prefs, Sunday at 3-Bid Day. Like last year, bids should be published on the Panhellenic site.
