Okay, I have 13 kids and so far, 5 have pledged--2 AOIIs, 2 Chi Os, and a Zeta and we also have 3 nieces who are AOII actives. Other cousins and aunts are alums of various groups.
Enough with the cough-coughs, I am so embarrassed! I couldn't think of how to describe some of the pins.

Personally, I think the Carnation Nation needs a beautiful golden Lamp...

Ms. C... I am very proud to have Mr. C's AGD... I was just meaning one of the girls... that is all. My squirrel reference wasn't meant to pressure... just add the presence of AGD to the conversation.

The 2006 Carnation Rush Thread
Hi, I have never seen this site before, but one of my friends has and asked me to post--This is really for PNMs moms--When my daughter went to college a few years ago I encouraged her to rush. I went to a large school and am outgoing so had no problem. She was hesitant, a little quieter than I am, but I said if you don't pledge at least you will meet a lot of girls. She went to a school that you don't get in if you have under a 4.0 and lots of activities so that is not a part of the mix. Anyways, her best friend (who was a legacy) and her best friend on her hall (they became immediate friends and she was one of her maids of honor at her wedding) who was legacy to another house (moms both went to their school) all of them loved the same house. My daughter suicided and the others got the house, she didn't. Her Ro Chis sobbed coming in to tell her. 3 houses gave her a snap bid, but she declined. I was crushed for her, she had a bad day and I'm sure more but didn't let on to us. Anyways she spent her first year as an independant at a fairly big greek school and realized that she would be fine with a sorority or not. Sophomore year comes and she has decided to rush again, I am supportive but thinking YIKES, more rejection. The difference this year was that she knew people in all of the sororities and was rushed hard--no cuts all the way through--they knew her to be the person she was--She had lots of moments, but ended up pledging her favorite from freshman year, but it was a struggle, she had so many friends now in all of them. Anyways she ended up being President of the house, etc. etc. Five of her seven bridesmaids in her wedding were all her sisters and they are a blessing. BTW she was a double legacy to my sorority but not interested, she went back to them several times though and I said don't go back, but she felt bad about cutting them--it is true to go with your heart. Rush can be great but also be hard for everyone--I remember crying during cuts cause their were girls we loved, but because of grades or other things we couldn't take them. Alot of times it is not personal!!!
