Man oh man, that Spike Lee sure is controversial....laugh it off....laugh it off. School Daze was my joint, I was just new to IOTA when that movie came out. Hell my big brother name "SonnyDaze" is in homage to the movie.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaake Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup....LOL. I love it.

To answer some questions:

1. Yes, the fictional Gamma Rays would be considered an auxiliary.
2. Most BGLO still have auxiliary groups. Even they are not NATIONALLY recognized, they still get org. luv locally.
3. Iota Sweethearts are NATIONALLY recognized. Established in 1964 and still going IOTA strong. "It Takes A Special Lady"

Now to throw MY OPINION/COMMENT in here....

1. I worked for a GREEK (born and raised in Greece) who didn't understand why Americans (no matter the race) were taking three greek alphabets to put together that didn't say a word and calling themselves 'greek'
2. Every organization had a establishing date, whether it was in the 1400s, 1900s or two minutes ago. It's what you do with the org that gives you a sense of TRADITION.

Well that was my one cent, I could not afford two cents, because a brother got mad bills up the wahzoooo.
(and this Iota is walking towards the cyber door....lata folks....LOL)

Wow! I actually spent the last hour reading every last post before I formed an opinion. I am a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Founded 1911 on the very racist (yes I said it) campus of Indiana University (at least back then). My fraternity is part of the NPHC and the IFC so I don't know what the fuss is. I have never looked at another organization as being superior or lesser than mine. Just different. PWGLO's (predominately white Greek letter organizations) are different than ours.

The majority of hazing related deaths, college crimes, on campus greek related violence, and greek related rapes are perpetrated by, guess who...WHITE Fraternities and Sororities. Given the fact that there are so many PWGLO's, you could understand why. Now we can all agree that drinking, smoking, loose sexual behavior, and random violence is "thuggish" behavior. Anyone ever check the generally accepted American perception of white Greek life??? Exactly what I stated above. I was at a Kappa Sigma party and one of them started shooting at a car his girlfriend was in as it drove off. Thuggish behavior??? My point is, we all have those who behave negatively. But please don't make it a "black" thing or a "BGLO" thing.

As far as Tradition and BONDS or COALITIONS are concerned, the NPHC is known for the networking and fellowship that often and forever will last a life time. As for preparing men/women for the corporate world, that is one of the major objectives of all NPHC organizations.
