Alpha Chi Omega was founded as a music interest sorority at Depauw University in 1885 and since they were the first such sorority they were alpha and they thought they may be the last so Omega was chosen then the greek word for and "kai" was chosen to connect them. They then changed the Kai to the greek letter Chi because they sound the same, thus we are known as Alpha Chi Omega. Our patron goddess is Hera.
